Australia WWII Service Amid Strife 2026 20c Women’s Services Colour Cupro-Nickel Uncirculated Coin
Honouring the vital but often neglected role of Australian women during the Second World War, and one of very few full-colour 20c issues, we are delighted to present the WWII 2026 20c Women’s Services Colour Uncirculated Coin!
The first Australian women’s service was established in March 1941, with the formation of the Women’s Auxiliary Australian Air Force (WAAAF). By the end of the conflict, more than 27,000 women had served in the WAAAF, along with more than 3,000 who served with the Women’s Royal Australian Naval Service (WRANS). In a bid to allow more Australian men to serve overseas, the Australian Women’s Army Service (AWAS) was formed. The only non-medical women’s service to dispatch personnel overseas, more than 24,000 women served in the AWAS.
Distinguished by a full-colour motif inspired by the uniform of the WAAAF – the first and largest of Australia’s Women’s Services in WWII – this unique, one-year-only type is a must-have for all decimal collectors. Not to be issued for circulation and never to be found in change, this coin is essential to those looking to keep their collection complete!
With the mintage restricted to a mere 40,000 coins, and our allocation tiny, we must – in the interests of fairness – apply a limit of one coin per household. With a sell-out certain, immediate action is essential. Click add to cart now!
